You can also join the association <i>V-Dala v\u00e4nner<\/i> (Friends of V-Dala), further information below.<\/p>\n<p>Our wish is for you and we to have the same relationship we used to have, albeit with a more nostalgic touch. Our long-term goal is to cherish this relationship to safeguard the future of \u00a0our nation together, and to preserve the memory of our carefree days in Uppsala and at V-Dala.<\/p>\n<p><b>Alumni associations<\/b><\/p>\n<p>F\u00f6reningen V\u00e4stmanlands-Dala nations v\u00e4nner (Friends of V-Dala) \u00a0is the Nation\u2019s alumni association. Further, there are a couple of specific associations for alumni belonging to certain groups at the Nation:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/v-dala.se\/alumnverksamhet\/v-dalakorens-seniorforening\/\">V-Dalak\u00f6rens seniorf\u00f6rening<\/a> (The V-Dala Choir\u2019s senior members) \u00a0for those who sang with the Nation\u2019s choir.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; F\u00f6reningen Krutgubbarna for former members of ab Kruthornen and Letta Gardet.<\/p>\n<p><b>V-Dala v\u00e4nner<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Eligible for membership are all honorary members, anyone who has been a member for at least five semesters, and others decided by the board of V-Dala V\u00e4nner. At present, this association counts around 350 people among its ranks. Membership is 75 SEK\/annum (lifetime member 750 SEK). Become a member by depositing the membership fee to the association\u2019s postgiro account 41 38 41-8. As a member, you will receive a registry with information about the members and the Nation\u2019s magazine, Landskapsposten.<\/p>\n<p>General meetings are held every other year, normally May 1st, and consequently every four years in conjuncture with the Senior Members&#8217; Meeting. Every semester, the association hosts various functions and gathers present and past members of the nation to, among other things, May dinner, Autumn feast, balls or gasks. V-Dala V\u00e4nner supports the Nation, for example with monetary assistance for important investments and activities, presents grant money at the Autumn feast and keeps its members informed of what goes on at the Nation.<\/p>\n<p><b>History<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #4f4f4f;\">F\u00f6reningen V\u00e4stmanlands-Dala nations v\u00e4nner, informally V-Dala V\u00e4nner, was originally F\u00f6reningen V\u00e4stmanl\u00e4nningar och Dalkarlar (the Association Westmen and Dalecarlians), FVDK, which was founded on May 1st, 1955. It was decided that the name be changed at a general meeting on May 1st 2007. Apart from the name, the bylaws remain the same. \u00a0Key concepts are \u00a0\u201cpreserving and strengthening the members\u2019 feelings of fellowship with one another and with \u00a0the active students of V\u00e4stmanlands-Dala Nation\u201d \u00a0att \u201dto be the members\u2019 point of contact with the nation in matters which have to do with them\u201d and further to \u201cbenefit the nation in other matters.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Are you an alumnus?
